Cy Twombly T-shirt

This T-shirt was produced on the occasion of the exhibition Cy Twombly at Gagosian, Beverly Hills, and 980 Madison Avenue, New York. The front features the cursive lines, sweeping arcs, and drips of red paint from Twombly’s Untitled (2007) screenprinted on a yellow shirt. Included in the exhibition, which gathers together works from the final decade of Twombly’s life, the painting exemplifies the artist’s return to the medium at a large scale in the 2000s as well as his adoption of a new approach to color with palettes of lush, saturated hues.
