Derrick Adams: Sweet Retreat (Sunny) T-shirt

This T-shirt was produced on the occasion of Derrick Adams: RECESS at Gagosian, Burlington Arcade, London. Embodying the themes of Black joy, play, and leisure that are at the center of Adams’s practice, the presentation included new works and an installation of the artist’s interactive sculptures Funtime Unicorn Spring Riders (2022). The shirt features an image of a sunflower with a face and sunglasses from Everything and a Ring (2023), a painting shown in Come as You Are, Adams’s 2023 debut exhibition at Gagosian.
