Henry Moore: Wunderkammer—Origins of Forms

This book was published on the occasion of Henry Moore: Wunderkammer—Origin of Forms at Gagosian, Davies Street, London. The exhibition explored the origins of and processes behind Moore’s sculptures by recreating his maquette studio at Perry Green—now home to the Henry Moore Foundation—at the gallery. Moore’s wunderkammer of found objects was presented alongside the drawings and sculptural maquettes that they inspired.

The catalogue documents the exhibition, including reproductions of six relief sculptures, fifty-four maquettes and small sculptures, four large sculptures, and over seventy drawings, alongside thirty-five related archival images depicting Moore and the studio. It also features an illustrated essay by Richard Calvocoressi, the exhibition’s curator and then director of the Henry Moore Foundation, and a conversation between Calvocoressi and Edmund de Waal.
