John Chamberlain against the World

An artist’s book by Urs Fischer, himself a proponent of visual collisions, John Chamberlain against the World presents a torrent of images that expand John Chamberlain’s artistic lineage and legacy. The publication juxtaposes works by Chamberlain with images of Baroque sculpture, advertisements, and artworks by Chamberlain’s peers and artists who might be considered his “descendants.” In this way, Fischer parallels Chamberlain’s own associative logic in which proximity beckons poetry.
