Peter Marino Black Belt: Mini Otto Vase (Light Pink)

Peter Marino collaborated with the historic Italian glass company Venini to create the Black Belt collection, a limited-edition series of glass vases. Each vase is designed by Marino and handblown by Venini artisans using time-honored Murano glassmaking techniques.

The collection features four distinct shapes—ovale (oval), quadro (square), triangolo (triangle), and otto (figure eight)—each made in a variety of transparent hues that contrast with opaque black bands in unique linear patterns. The otto vase stands out for its soft shapes recalling bodily curves. The edition comprises 349 pieces of each shape, color, and size. Due to its handcrafted nature, each vase is unique. All are numbered and etched with Marino’s signature.

“I have a different philosophy from many architects,” says Marino of the project. “It’s not just about art; I like art that’s used, so I made vases for flowers because I’m a flower freak.”
