Richard Serra: Triptychs and Diptychs, Forged Rounds, Reverse Curve

This book was published on the occasion of three concurrent exhibitions by Richard Serra at Gagosian, New York—Forged Rounds, Reverse Curve, and Triptychs and Diptychs. Housed in a slipcase, this two-volume set documents the presentation of five new sculptures and more than twenty drawings by the artist.

Four of the sculptures—all from the artist’s Rounds series—are each composed of multiple 50-ton forged-steel elements of differing diameters and heights. The fifth sculpture, Reverse Curve (2005/19), measuring 99 feet long and 13 feet high, was originally conceived in 2005 for a public project in Reggio Emilia, Italy.
