Picasso: The Mediterranean Years (1945–1962)

This poster featuring Femme assise près de la fenêtre (1956) was produced in 2010, in conjunction with Picasso: The Mediterranean Years (1945–1962) at Gagosian, Britannia Street, London. Curated by John Richardson and Bernard Ruiz-Picasso, the exhibition focused on the postwar years in which Picasso began to spend more and more time in the South of France, marking a return to the Mediterranean heritage that had nourished some of his most important stylistic changes in the past.
